HR Award

HR Excellence in Research Award

Moravian Business College Olomouc (MVSO) received the prestigious HR Excellence in Research Award, granted by the European Commission, in October 2020.
In 2023, the university successfully completed the Internal Review (also referred to as the Interim Assessment) and is now preparing for the next Internal Review and the subsequent Site Visit, which are part of the Renewal Phase of the award process.

The institution has incorporated the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (Charter & Code) into its everyday institutional practices. By obtaining the award, MVSO joined the community of research institutions that adhere to European standards in researcher care, open, transparent, and merit-based recruitment (OTM-R), and a high-quality working environment.

The HRS4R Working Group, composed of representatives from academic staff, management, and administration, has been gradually complemented by new members to strengthen its expertise and operational effectiveness. The group continuously works to align institutional practice with the principles of the Charter and Code, also reflecting feedback from staff collected through internal surveys (see Methodology of the GAP Analysis).

Based on these findings, the Working Group developed a new Action Plan
2023–2026, defining specific measures to ensure continuous improvement
and full alignment with the 20 updated principles of the revised European Charter
for Researchers (2024).

  • Maintaining the HR Excellence in Research Award represents for MVSO:
  • increased prestige and international recognition,
  • integration into the European network of research institutions,
  • strengthened attractiveness as a partner for international researchers, and
  • continuous improvement in human resources management and staff development.
