HR Award

Moravian Business College Olomouc (MVSO) was awarded the prestigious HR Excellence in Research Award by the European Commission in October 2020.
In 2023, the university successfully completed the Internal Review (also known as the Interim Assessment) and entered the renewal phase of the award process. MVSO is currently preparing for the next Internal Review and the subsequent Site Visit, both of which form part of the award renewal procedure.
The institution has embedded the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (Charter & Code) into its daily operations and institutional culture. By obtaining the award, MVSO joined a community of research institutions committed to European standards in researcher support, Open, Transparent and Merit-Based Recruitment (OTM-R), and the provision of a high-quality working environment.
The HRS4R Working Group, consisting of representatives of academic staff, university management, and administrative departments, continuously oversees the implementation of these principles. Over time, the group has been expanded with new members to strengthen its expertise and enhance its effectiveness. Its activities are also guided by feedback collected from employees through internal surveys (see Methodology of the GAP Analysis).
Based on the outcomes of these surveys and evaluations, the Working Group developed a new Action Plan 2023–2026, setting out concrete measures to ensure continuous improvement and full compliance with the 20 updated principles of the revised European Charter for Researchers (2024).
For MVSO, maintaining the HR Excellence in Research Award means:
· increased prestige and international recognition,
· active participation in the European network of research institutions,
· enhanced attractiveness for international researchers and research partners,
· continuous improvement of human resource management processes, and
· ongoing support for staff development and professional growth.
