10th International Week 2025 - Intercultural Connections
From 7 to 11 April 2025, Moravian Business College Olomouc (MVSO) hosted the milestone 10th edition of International Week. This annual event once again offered students a unique opportunity to participate in lectures, interactive workshops led by international lecturers, and cultural activities – all conducted in English.
The week opened with a student-led intercultural panel, bringing together presentations from both local and international MVSO students. Thanks to students from Hungary, Turkey, and China, we were able to glimpse into different parts of the world through their personal Erasmus+ stories. Contributions also came online from MVSO students currently carrying out their Erasmus+ study mobilities in Slovenia and Spain. Monday was filled with experience-sharing, openness, and intercultural dialogue.
The programme continued with lectures and workshops delivered by international guest lecturers from MVSO partner universities. Students explored topics such as Human Resource Management, Confident Communication, and Global Business Leadership Development.
The programme was also enriched by an interactive start-up management simulation board game.
One particularly memorable session was delivered by traveller and photographer David Švejnoha, founder of the Planet of People project.
He took attendees on a journey through the lives of indigenous tribes in Africa, Asia, and Papua New Guinea, sharing stories from communities that live in harmony with nature, tradition, and their own values. His talk emphasised the importance of embracing differences with respect, open-mindedness, and without prejudice.
Contributing to the unique atmosphere, the Confucius Institute Olomouc presented a programme that began with a traditional Chinese dance performance. This was followed by an introduction to China’s history and contemporary life, basic Chinese language lessons, traditional costume try-ons, and a calligraphy workshop. Students had the chance to experience Chinese culture through all their senses.
We extend our sincere thanks to all the guests, students, and organisers who helped create such a vibrant and inspiring atmosphere. International Week 2025 was a celebration of knowledge sharing, intercultural understanding, and international engagement.
